How To Stock Up On Food And Lose Weight

Tesco Malaysia Online Shopping is pretty amazing in planning out my weekly grocery shopping. It's one of the best tool that I recommend to lose weight. I get tons and tons of queries almost daily on what to eat while going on a weightloss program. So this is my one of BIGGEST tip. Pre-plan your grocery shopping!

Current month promotion...pretty sweet deal!

I love Tesco Malaysia Online Shopping mainly because of these four reasons:

Ever since I’ve heard about the “Happiness Project” book by Gretchen Rubin, I’ve wanted to read it. But of course I’ve been procrastinating about the whole happiness thing and am I so sorry I did. Strangely enough, it didn’t only shifted my perspective on happiness by a few degrees, it also lead me down the path of discovering that small little things repeated daily can bring such a huge impact as shown by Gretchen Rubbin herself, successfully scoring a New York Times Best Seller and all.

I have never done a book review but I think Gretchen Rubbin’s The Happiness Project has helped me quite a lot in the past month and I’m truly honoured to review it today.

We don’t have enough family swimming equipment!

On this journey for a healthy active lifestyle, me and hubby are always looking for ways to make working out fun. Fun has a tendency to become a habit in our little family. So we found that swimming is soooo much fun AND burns a ton of calories. Hence, we got swimming quite a bit.
Yet in terms of the equipments that we need, all I have at the moment are quite well worn swimsuits which I think I've used for the past 6 years, I’ve got no proper head caps to cover my hair, Riduan’s swimsuit is getting tight, Abang’s is ok I think, but maybe an additional extra goggle and proper swim pants. And Baby Atief have none! And I’m just dreaming of swimming nappies and not to resort to normal nappies which puffs up and makes Riduan and Atief look like Donald Duck. And look at me! Hehe ^_^

This was off a website that I write for. Click here to read the article :)

So here’s the family swimming equipment that I really wish for since we go on swimming trips quite a lot:

My Baby Atief is a little bit past his 7 months birthday and that means a whole new adventure of solid food is happening right now. At 6 months old I introduced rice into his meal plan, cooked to a porridge consistency and blended to a puree. Rice puree. But I’ve been a little bit lazy and just had him on rice the whole month. And so in the spirit of instilling a new habit in me and in Baby Atief, I’m pledging to lead Baby Atief (and eventually his Big Brother Riduan and daddy too) on a gastronomic-healthy-lifestyle journey!

Can you do a duck face? ^_^

Do you feel that losing weight is like preparing to walk on a tight rope? You’re all perspiring looking down an imaginary 400m drop and thinking…”I am sooooo going to fall”. Yes, I’ve been there folks. I would blame my future failure on a huge number of things like I’m not consistent, the diet is too restrictive, it’s in my genetics, I don’t have the money to get that fabulous personal trainer or to buy good nutrition and food for myself, my dad/boyfriend would always put me down etc. etc. the list would go on and on. But you’re missing ONE crucial thing here, one that was written beautifully by Napoleon Hill…

Plan your exercise this Ramadan closer to your iftaar. Provide your body with a great nutritional support!

In the days before, I never really focused on creating a healthy active lifestyle during the fasting month of Ramadan. My daily activities were usually resting, sleeping and hibernating. It surprised me that I still I felt lethargic and still find myself complaining endlessly of tiredness.

Well...four words that changed my perspective - GET FIT STAY STRONG!

Finding the direction of my blog
My blog has finally come into 3 years of fruition and today I’m taking a little bit of time in finding the direction of my blog. In my little community of healthy active lifestylers, a "Fix and Celebrate” moment has become our daily routine to grow. So today I am Fixing the direction of my blog and Celebrating the growth of my personal space in this massive internet.

Since I was in Primary School, writing has always been my passion and a way for me to express how I feel. Coming across the internet back in the days when the word blogging didn’t even exist, website building was the natural thing to do. And so away I went writing about the trials and tribulations of my teenage, hormonally charged life. And then blogging came around, and I totally resonated with it. I was so resonated that I think I’ve set up a dozen or so blogs to suit my own needs to let loose on some thoughts and just as quickly, I abandoned the blogs to pursue other types of writing.

It surprised even myself that this blog of mine survived and thrived well over the two years mark! I read around that blogs have got to have a specific direction so thats its not just me ranting on and on about the trial and tribulations of life or me just promoting products and stuff that other people don’t even want to read!

What are the types of posts that I resonates most with my beloved readers and keeps me inspired to write more?

You don't HAVE to go to a gym to get fit. Why not try a fitness class in Shah Alam or more fondly known as our Fit Club to get to the fitness level that you want!

Shah Alam Fit Challenge Tu Apa?

Saya adalah Coach Aisyah dari Raudhah@7 Wellness Center dan hari ni saya rasa sangat excited kerana nak menjemput pembaca blog saya untuk sertai Shah Alam Fit Challenge! :D

Boba Wrap Malaysia
My review of how the Boba Wrap held up while I travelled from Malaysia to Singapore with my energetic 3 months old baby, curious 2 year old toddler and a super patient husband.
That's us in an Air Asia flight. My cheeky Little Riduan loves to pose for a photo heeee~!

Our little family here LOVES to travel and we do it quite a lot. Not only do we go around Malaysia from the east to the west constantly, we travel outside of Malaysia quite often too - every 3 months or so. Back when we first had our first child, Little Riduan, travelling with a bulky-super-comfy-3-wheeled stroller was not a big deal. But when we had Baby Atief, I was dead nervous planning our first trip abroad. I searched high and low to kit out our travelling family and I am super excited to say that the Boba Wrap Malaysia to Singapore trip was a success!!

How comfy is the Boba Wrap?
If you haven't already, check out my first review of wearing the Boba Wrap that I got from Lunatots while attending a Body Combat Fit Club in Shah Alam. Yup, I am THAT active. Comfy wise, the Boba Wrap really makes carrying Baby Atief around Malaysia and Singapore a breeze. The weight is well distributed on my body and I hardly feel the weight at all. Even when I was literally 90% on my feet all day long for four days.

5 things that I love about my Boba Wrap Malaysia to Singapore trip:
  1. Great for my back pain
I have a history of severe back-pain, shoulder-pain, arm-pain and hand-pain. Back in my corporate days, I didn't know that I had to take care of my posture while working for probably...12 hours straight daily and that costs me my back. So on my 4 days trip with the Boba Wrap Malaysia to Singapore, I came back home back-pain free! Yeay!!
  2. Energetic baby saver
For some sort of reason, Baby Atief has an extra abundance of energy, doesn't stay asleep easily and loves to be held close at all times. So a stroller is most of the time, not the ideal option. Yes, the first time that I wore Baby Atief in the Boba Wrap, he trashed around and made a point that he didn't like it! But love is not always at first sight right? Hehe. So now, 2 weeks after getting the Boba Wrap, I can safely say he absolutely adores it. Kudos Boba Wrap!
  3. Even Daddy can wear it
My kiddos affectionally calls their daddy - Walid. And Walid was at first a bit nervous wearing Baby Atief in the Boba Wrap Malaysia to Singapore. Can't blame him since Walid is super tall and I barely comes up to his shoulders. But check out the photo below! I think Walid is starting to love the wrap :D

  4. Travelling on Public Transport is a breeze
  5. For me, Singapore has one of the most navigatable public transportation in the Asia Pacific region and I absolutely love the extra mile that was put in to make sure that pedestrians and tourist (especially mommies and daddies with little children) have an easy time navigating the city. So me and hubby decided that we're going to take advantage of this and went taxi-less for the whole stay in Singapore. Baby Atief was far less fussy and stayed asleep for most of the train ride in the Boba Wrap. And I was far less nervous when hopping on and off the trains and "Minding the Gap" and all that since I have my hands free to grab on to the hand rails.

Hands free for a quick selfie at the trains!

  6. Ice Breaker!
Can I say ICE BREAKER loud enough?! Its an amaaaazing conversation starter and I love it! The Boba Wrap Malaysia to Singapore travel was far more exciting this way. I get to know more local Singaporeans whom are super warm and friendly. And I cannot tell you how many "Oh wow!" and "Your baby is so cute" compliments that I got from a lot of people. I'm quite surprised that a baby wrap is not such a common sight may it be in Singapore or Malaysia. I feel kinda cool hehe.
My review of the Boba Wrap Malaysia to Singapore family trip
Travelling from Singapore to Malaysia while towing two little ones along was an absolute pleasure for me and hubby. The trip was for both business and pleasure and for both reasons, alhamdulillah our Boba Wrap Malaysia and Singapore trip this time around was a massive success! Looking forward to more baby wrapping travelling around the globe yeay!

Baby Wrap: The Boba
As a mom who runs her own business in Fitness and Weight Loss while taking care of two active kiddos, I find it sometimes impossible to do any sort of active movements let alone exercising! Most of the time I carry around my almost 3 months old Baby Atief while having 2 year old Little Riduan running around, bumping into me and making carrying baby around almost super dangerous. And here is where my newly purchased baby wrap - The Boba Wrap saved my life!

Me working out in our Fit Club Body Combat class with the Boba Baby Wrap

What's in the box?

I got my Baby Wrap - The Boba in a cute purpler colour. So in the box, we have:
  • "The Benefits of Babywearing" manual
  • "Babywearing Safety Manual"
  • Instructions on how to wear the baby wrap
  • The baby wrap itself
  • And a convenient stretchy pouch to store the baby wrap in
How does baby likes it?
I got the The Boba Baby Wrap when my Baby Atief was just turning 2 months old. He's quite a tiny baby (weighing only 2.7kg when he came out), so a baby wrap is just perfect for him since it is totally adjustable to his body size. I had a soft front carrier before, but Baby Atief just doesn't fit in that one. So for a smaller sized baby or a premie, a wrap is just perfect.

And how does Baby Atief likes it? He absolutely fell in love with it the first time I carried him in there. Just look at the picture below...he fell asleep in The Boba Baby Wrap right inside the baby shop! Hehe, so Ummi just gotta buy it. Clever boy! ^_^

Us at Lunatots and just looky at Baby Atief fast asleep!

The only thing that I'm trying to figure out right now with The Boba Baby Wrap is that Baby Atief doesn't seem to like when I sit down. He'll wake up and struggle and struggle and eventually scream his lungs out, wanting me to stand again. Is it pain? Is it uncomfortable? Or is it just baby's character?? I'm not sure right now... I'll give it a few more days and answer this question.

How does Mama likes it?
Oh my gosh!!! I LOVE it!!!! My business is to do with health and fitness. So most of the time I'm in my sports gear, being super active or organising my Fit Club. I felt really bewildered after my maternity rest since I couldn't do Fit Clubs or just being plain active in my daily life. Baby Atief kinda likes it more when I'm with him, and its like he's got a sixth sense whenever I'm not around him, even if he is sleeping.

So getting The Boba Baby Wrap really...I mean REALLY helped!!! Baby Atief just goes to sleep when I put him in there and doesn't seem to mind my jumping about like for instance in Body Combat class. Check out this video, baby love is asleep while I kick some invisible butts!

Menu makanan harian untuk diet
Salam semua! ^_^

And then saya tetapkan…sebenarnya saya VETO-kan hari Sabtu kite beli je hehe (ni namanya “Cheat Day”!).
